A total of 7 tons of food sustenance, for the nearby homeless populace , has been donated by the worshippers from East London Mosque.
English Charity organisation Muslim Aid sorted out a decent drive in collaboration with the East London Mosque urging the neighborhood group to give free mealfor the UK's destitute and poor.
Kind hearted people gave non-perishable things such rice, pasta and tinned sustenance after Friday prayers at slows down set up by Muslim Aid outside at the East London Mosque.
In a live communicate on the IlmFeed Facebook page, Muslim Aid delegate Abul Kalam said it was an obligation for Muslims to consider the neighborhood penniless populace, citing the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who said:
"He is not an adherent who eats his fill while his neighbor close to him goes hungry" (Bukhari).
Shaykh Abdul Qayyum, who is the central Imam at East London Mosque said:
"This sympathy is really reflective of what Islam remains for."
He included: “In the cold winter months when we have the luxury of a home and hot food, it’s easy to forget about others that are in dire need around us. So it is in that spirit we take part in this big food drive.."
"Muslims are motivated by their faith towards helping other people in need. It is a religious obligation for Muslims to attempt to help other people, independent of a man's confidence or foundation."
The meal will be given be distributed to food banks through the destitute philanthropy Crisis which will help those attempting to make a decent living in the UK.
